I believe that your Sign videos make a massive difference to folk learning BSL. I know that you take a lot of care in presenting the videos and demonstrate the Signs from different angles – this is something that many tutors don’t do. Showing regional variations is also very helpful. I live in Tyneside and there are sometimes subtle variations between Tyneside, Durham and Teeside! Some Signs in Sunderland have a lot in common with Durham and we also get Scottish Signs drifting into our regional Signs! Ironically, some Scottish Signs mean something totally different in Tyneside!!!

I really wanted to learn BSL, but didn’t want to take on an expensive certification course. I was so glad I found Adel’s tutoring service! I love the one-on-one sessions because I can ask questions and get feedback on my signing. Adel is a great teacher and she is so friendly. She is kind and patient, so I can feel comfortable making mistakes as I learn. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking to learn BSL!

Adel is a great tutor; she is super friendly and makes everyone feel comfortable, which is so valuable when starting to learn a new language. She makes every session different and engaging. I have learnt and developed my BSL skills so much since being with Adel. 

Adel is a fantastic teacher and I really enjoy my lessons with her. Our lessons cover all aspects of BSL including active and receptive signing opportunities, so that I am confident to use the language myself as well as watch and understand others who are signing. As a fellow linguist, Adel understand what works for me when learning a new language and is able to communicate the fundamentals of BSL in a way that I understand easily. The activities are always fun as well as informative, covering all aspects of the language, as well as Deaf culture and history. Adel is such an amazing tutor. I have been learning BSL with her for a little while now with my partner and have enjoyed every bit! She is understanding of everyone and her lessons are so easy going and fun. She not only teaches you the basics of BSL but also looks into deaf history, hand shapes, deaf comedy and music too. Would highly recommend. 

Earlier this year I started to learn BSL (I have hearing loss) unfortunately the funding was stopped, and the classes couldn’t continue.

I looked online at different social media for BSL tuition, thankfully I came across ADEL on TikTok.

I immediately liked the personable and fun way Adel teaches signing and thought I would make contact by email for a lesson and am so glad I did.

It can be a bit daunting using Zoom and using BSL as a beginner, but after a few minutes into my first lesson I was completely at ease.

Since that first lesson my confidence and knowledge of BSL has grown, all due to the wonderful way Adel teaches. Each lesson is different and fun, the ½ hour flies by and is something to look forward too each week.

If you are unsure about online BSL learning, I can say without doubt don’t worry. You will have an enjoyable, fun time with Adel and learn at your pace this beautiful language.

I’ve been taking BSL lessons from Adel for just over 4 months. I find the lessons enjoyable. Adel is a good tutor, with a pleasant demeanour and a skilful teaching style. She is very organised, with a detailed history of progress to recap on. She is very encouraging which gives confidence and self belief when you’re thinking to yourself that you’re not making progress. Her content is very accurate. I check and revise the BSL signs I’m learning using an online Dictionary between lessons and it’s almost always exactly the same (a lot of teachers and sources bear no resemblance to the true sign language).
